Cardmitment

The GCA’s #Cardmitment campaign has continued with a consumer press release and is backed by designer and TV personality Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

The campaign’s logo has also just been launched.

The press releases focuses on what makes us British – including our propensity for showing off the cards we receive. The release states: ”Not only do Brits send more greeting cards than any other nation on earth, unlike other countries, we also love to put our birthday cards on the mantelpiece and leave them there for weeks.’’

Research carried out on behalf of the GCA shows that Brits leave cards up for an average of nine days – and in Wales and the Midlands, one in 10 people keep them on show for a month!

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen adds: “My wife Jackie and I have always been big greeting card senders, hoovering them up when we see something beautiful or a design we think would be perfect for someone we know,

“I feel that greeting cards are a very important part of making and retaining relationships. The sending of a greeting card is not AI, it’s something real, based on real emotions, creativity and craftsmanship, and I feel privileged to be part of this.”

The press release also highlights that September is Britain’s biggest month for birthdays.

The GCA has also compiled a ‘local’ release  that members can use to promote their business – it can be downloaded and personalised and sent to local press to gain coverage.
