British Garden Centres has announced the third acquisition in a week: the former Dobbies Gosforth site at Gosforth Park in Newcastle upon Tyne
This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the business, which is billed as the UK’s largest family-run garden centre group in the UK, as it takes the retailer’s portfolio to 68 stores.
The existing team will be retained. There will also be a recruitment drive, creating new employment opportunities within the local area.
The centre is planned to re-open mid to late February. The Gosforth Garden Centre’s Facebook and Instagram pages will continue to provide updates on the site’s progression.

It’s another very exciting opportunity as we have clear ambitions to grow the centre. We look forward to getting ready for the opening.”
