The government has approved the sale of Royal Mail to Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky
Mr Kretinsky, nicknamed the Czech sphinx, owns EP Group, which will buy the postal service’s parent company International Distribution Services (IDS).
The deal, worth £5.3bn was agreed in May, but had to undergo a government review because Royal Mail is considered vital national infrastructure.
In response to the announcement, Heidi Early, a Greeting Card Association member, and co-owner of card publisher and retailer Earlybird Designs, highlighted the importance of a reliable and affordable postal service on ITV news yesterday.
