Paper Salad’s Stockport base was the focus for a segment on Christmas cards and the rising cost of postage this morning (Tuesday December 3)
Owner Karen Wilson was interviewed as BBC Breakfast showed the process of Paper Salad’s handpainted designs being transformed into Christmas cards – and there was a sneak peek at designs heading into production for Christmas 2025!
Karen said: ”We pride ourselves on handpainted designs. Christmas card sending is still very buoyant. We get emails from people all over the world telling us about how much the card meant to them.’’
Karen also highlighted the rise in 18-30-year-olds sending cards, adding: ”There’s something special about something landing on the doorstep.’’
She added that while first class postage had increased, there was still time to send cards by second class mail at 85p.
At the end of the segment, BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent told viewers she had been inspired and would be writing her Christmas cards later in the day.
GCA CEO Amanda Fergusson was also interviewed on the day.
