Jackie Collins, MD of Cherry Orchard’s made rather an unusual trip to her local M&S in Malvern this weekend.
Donning a Santa outfit and sack she handed out 180 free Cherry Orchard Christmas cards (one card for every year that Christmas card sending started way back in 1843), along with a free second-class stamp .
Jackie said: ‘’I felt so strongly towards the lack of thought, love and kindness by M&S’s Christmas advert showing Sophie Ellis Bexter taking a blow torch to Christmas cards that I felt compelled to promote awareness of the importance of sending Christmas cards and of course, cards in general. The feedback I received was just heartwarming and I also made great friends with Rebecca, a Big Issue seller from Birmingham!’’
She will also donate £100 to Young Minds (the charity that M&S supports) and to Age UK, a charity very close to her heart.
