The Greeting Card Association (GCA) had a busy Monday as BBC TV and radio stations across the country featured its #Cardmitment campaign, on the back of the price rise of first-class stamps.
The BBC Breakfast cameras were at the Great British Card Company/Ling warehouse in Gloucestershire, where GCA CEO Amanda Fergusson spoke about the importance of sending cards, avoiding the price hike by sending Christmas cards early by second-class post, and the GCA’s Cardmitment campaign.
She told Greetings Today: “It was good to be able to remind consumers that second-class stamp prices haven’t gone up, and encourage them to start buying and writing their Christmas cards. This media coverage is a great start to our #Cardmitment campaign reminding everyone about the joy of sending and receiving cards, and the importance of sending cards this Christmas”.
GBBC head of creative Lucy Ledger also appeared in the TV clip, as did designer Sophie Thorne, (both pictured above) who had created a special BBC Children In Need card, which BBC presenter Ben Boulos took back to the BBC studios with him.
BBC 5 Live also attended the GCA annual Conference and AGM in Leeds last Thursday, interviewing Amanda at the end of the event. They later interviewed David Byk, CEO of Great British Card Company and Ling, and GCA Council Member.
