Holy Mackerel Spring Fair 2023

Hall 3 Stand R02

The Holy Mackerel team is bringing more than 150 new card designs to Spring Fair, kicking off with a new collaboration with Ailsa Black.

Based in beautiful Scotland, Ailsa takes her inspiration from the wildlife she meets on her walks with failed sheepdog Jack, and you’ll find sunbathing seals, lazy cats, Highland coos (and Jack of course!) among the designs. As Holy Mackerel Director Katie Meeke points out: “Ailsa’s gorgeously vibrant artwork is a fantastic fit for our range, which is already known for its rainbow of colours as well as its little tweaks of humour.’’

And talking of splashes of colour, it wouldn’t be Spring Fair without a host of new Erica Sturla cards, featuring her brilliant polymer clay figures. There are 33 new designs launching in January, with new 35th, 45th, 85th and 95th birthday cards, cards for snowboarders and kitesurfers, and lots of fresh new relations birthday designs.

The Alternative Image range of retro black and white photographic cards is brimming over with new cards too, in both rectangular and square formats. Watch out for some iconic 20th century images – from dinosaurs out shopping to female footballers booting up, and the ever-elegant Fred Astaire, mid-leap!

Rosie Brooks has added to her Whole Lotta Rosie collection with new wedding cards and some gorgeous new GCSE exam congratulations cards, all ready for summer.

And if it’s mini cards you’re after, check out the new designs in the Small Fry range of 10cm greetings cards, with bumble bees, bouquets and a beautiful little puffin!
