The GCA and Sainsbury’s Diversity Design Opportunity Closes August 3.
The GCA has teamed up with Sainsbury’s for an opportunity to feature in 107 stores across the UK throughout October as part of the GCA’s on-going commitment to driving diversity and inclusion within the industry. Sainsbury’s are looking for 26 different designs to feature on a specially designed point of sale stand.
This collaboration was set up by GCA Council member and Lead for Diversity within the GCA, Mark Callaby (Managing Director of Ohh Deer) and is an opportunity for Black publishers and designers to have their designs within one of the UKs leading supermarkets.
They are looking for a range of designs from everyday occasions (Birthday, New Home, New Baby, New Job, Thank You, Sympathy etc) as well as cards that celebrate Black History Month. The final range should be an eclectic mix of cards that celebrate Black History Month and the Black community.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to create artwork that fits this brief then visit Design a card for Black History Month in Sainsbury’s | Greeting Card Association for more details.
The designs must be suitable for supermarket shelves – so no nudity and any swearing must be censored. The GCA will not accept any designs that demonstrate hate, prejudice or discrimination and all designs will go through a copyright check to ensure originality.
Designs can be illustrative, font based or photographic but must be in a square format and the final product will not have any special finishes.
Anyone can submit designs, including non-GCA members, and you’re able to enter as many designs as you like.
While the Sainsbury’s buying team will be selecting the final 26 designs, a diverse shortlisting team will also be assisting which includes GCA Council Members’ Adriana Lovesy from Mrs Lovesy, Tineka Smith from HueTribe and a member from Sainsbury’s Internal Diversity team.
