Umbellifer has teamed up with horticultural charity Perennial to support horticulture workers.

Greetings card brand Umbellifer has teamed up with the horticultural charity Perennial, to ensure that a proportion of profits from the sale of Umbellifer’s 2020 range of Christmas cards supports the charity’s work. Perennial help people who works in horticulture and their families, when times get tough.

Artist Stephen Lennon created 12 beautiful designs in the 2020 Christmas range which is a new addition to the botanical cards and prints business that he established three years ago.

Stephen said, “Perennial is the perfect fit with Umbellifer and it’s a charity I feel very strongly about, having worked in horticulture myself and seen how people can struggle, financially, physically and mentally, in a business so dependent on increasingly unstable weather. My work is inspired by my love of plants and the Umbellifer range is a celebration of both garden plants and British wildflowers. Perennial helps the gardeners and garden industry workers who make British gardens world famous – what a great cause to support!”

Two ranges have been launched, each celebrating the plants and birds most associated with winter and Christmas. The Birds and Berries range shows blackbirds, robins and wrens in snowy landscapes with berried twigs such as crab-apple and rowan. While the Square and Circle range shows robins, mistle thrushes and blackbirds alongside snowdrops, hellebores (Christmas roses), rosehips and mistletoe in snow with a decorative square and circle grid.

All the cards are blank inside and sold individually or in packs of 6 cards of the same design. They are printed on FSC accredited paper and the Birds and Berries range come with recycled paper envelopes and a biodegradable cello bag. All the cards and envelopes are 100% recyclable and compostable. For more information or to place an order contact Stephen at stephen@umbellifer.co.uk
