ACID plans IP webinar for greeting card and giftware designers

ACID (Anti Copying in Design) are encouraging British greeting card and giftware designers and makers to protect their designs and learn more about Intellectual Property via a webinar to be held on September 10.

Sadly, there are many people willing to fast track to market by copying or “adapting” designs. Some retailers will see the next big thing on the back of those who innovate, change it a little and a ‘new design is born!’ Prevention against copying is critical according to ACID and it should form the part of an IP strategy.

The Webinar will be held September 10, from 11-11.45am and will share insights on IP and design protection to achieve growth. Important topics such as was is intellectual property and why it’s important, how you can protect your designs and what steps you can take if you are a victim of online theft.

ACID’s co-founder and CEO Dids Macdonald, OBE., will share some of her practical insights into building a pro-active intellectual property strategy to enhance growth and protect designs. Dids, whose designs were copied by some major high street retailers, believes that taking a few steps to better understand the laws that protect designers can make all the difference. Along with Dids Macdonald will be Niall Head Rapson, Director of McDaniel & Co, ACID IP Legal Affiliate and specialist in intellectual property, who will be there to answer all your IP questions and dispel some of the myths about IP.
